The one hundred and eighty-eight photographs sent by John C.H. Grabill to the Library of Congress for copyright protection between 1887 and 1892 are thought to be the largest surviving collection of this gifted, early Western photographer's work. Grabill's remarkably well-crafted, sepia-toned images capture the forces of western settlement in South Dakota and Wyoming and document its effects on the area's indigenous communities.

Lisya. An amazing girl with a very interesting destiny. Probably the smartest and most beautiful traveler, who is distinguished by her insane love for the United States. She gave us a piece of her memories of South Dakota.

Yuryev-Polsky was founded in 1152 by Prince Yury Dolgoruky. The name of the town is related to the founder (Yuryev) and to the location (Polsky or Polskoy, this means "standing in the field" and has nothing to do with Poland).

Havana. Spanish: La Habana. is the capital and largest city of Cuba. The heart of the La Habana Province, Havana is the country's main port and commercial center.

The exact date of the foundation of Smolensk is not known. In The Tale of Bygone Years, a history of the Kievan Rus from about 850 to 1110, Smolensk was first mentioned as the center of the tribal union of the Krivichi under the year 862. In 882, it became part of the Kievan Rus.

Real color photos taken from 1905 to 1915 in various places of the Russian Empire and Europe. Scientist, chemist and inventor Prokudin-Gorsky used the three-color photography method, created his own sensitizer, equally sensitive to the entire color spectrum. This invention took color photography to a new level.
